Think of schooling. Basics in primary school, complexity in high school, specialization at university. An academy works the same way — skip a stage, and the athlete never really arrives.
It starts with fundamentals — technique that's simple, plain, and built to keep a rally alive. Nothing flashy, just repeatable. Once that's solid, the player moves to advanced — tactics, strategy, attack and defence, real competitiveness. This is where sport stops being a drill and starts being a contest.
Then comes specialization — the podium stage. Here the player isn't just training, they're actively fighting to secure a place on the podium, consistently. This is also where the athlete becomes something more than a sportsman: someone practicing continuous excellence and self-mastery.
Progression without milestones is just hope. Accountability at each stage is what turns a recreational player into a competitor.
